MVR and driver records
MVR pulls, PSP and CDLIS checks, annual reviews and ongoing monitoring, filed into a driver qualification file that stands up to inspection.
The file is the evidence
When an auditor asks about a driver, they are not asking whether the driver is any good. They are asking whether you checked, whether you checked on time, and whether you can prove it. The driver qualification file is that proof.
A file missing a single annual review is not a paperwork inconvenience. It is the auditor's evidence that your system for qualifying drivers does not actually run.
This is the least glamorous service we offer and one of the highest-consequence ones.
What is included
- MVR pulls — at hire and at each annual review, from every state where the driver has held a licence in the relevant period.
- Annual review of driving record — carried out, documented, signed and filed, with the note of what was considered.
- PSP reports — Pre-Employment Screening Program data on inspection and crash history, with the driver authorisation handled properly.
- CDLIS checks — confirming the licence status a candidate reports is the licence status they actually hold.
- Medical certificate tracking — expiry dates watched so a driver does not quietly become unqualified mid-month.
- Previous employer safety history — the requests sent, chased and filed, including the non-responses that also have to be documented.
Annual is a minimum, not a strategy
An annual review means a driver can accumulate eleven months of violations before you find out. For a one-truck operation that may be acceptable. For a fleet carrying a CSA score and an insurance renewal, it is a slow-motion problem.
Continuous monitoring closes that window: you learn about a violation when it posts, not at the next review. It also gives you a chance to coach a driver before the pattern hardens into a score.
Common questions
Can I take MVR monitoring without dispatch?
Yes. MVR and driver records is available on its own, as are compliance support, IFTA filing, the drug and alcohol program and factoring setup.
Do you need the driver's permission to pull records?
Yes, and we handle that. MVR and PSP access both require the driver's written authorisation, and that authorisation is itself part of the file.
What if a driver's record comes back with violations?
We flag it and tell you what it means for your CSA exposure and your insurance. The decision about the driver stays yours.
